Northshore
Chimers, born out of desperation for an activity that would meet the
needs of a multi-generational population, began a chime choir with a two
octave Suzuki handchime set, flowered cotton gardening gloves from the
dollar store, basic music, 8 ringers (aged 8-50), and a prayer that it might work
for at least a year. Twenty-three years later Northshore Chimers
are still praising God through song. The choir size fluctuates from year to year, yet four of the original ringers
still ring with the choir. Currently ringing Schulmerich Bells and Malmark Chimes the has produced and solidified the bonds of community
both within and without of the church both near and far. The choir has
played at the annual conference and area rallies of the Evangelical
Friends Church-Mid America. The Northshore Chimers have ministered to
the needs of the community through sharing God’s love in worship,
weddings, funerals, nursing home visits, home visits, a mission trip to
Springfield, Colorado in 2014, and at least one annual community concert
each year
